From December to April, Maui’s waters become like nowhere else on the planet. It’s the final destination from Alaska, as herds of humpback whales return for mating season, turning our shores into a mecca for whales – and green sea turtles. That’s where we come in, bringing you the paddle board, kayak, or snorkel set you need to see it for yourself. You won’t want to miss it.

What to Expect

You'll get a four-hour kayak rental and expert instruction. We'll meet you at a convenient lauch site from which you can paddle out to where the action is.

It's illegal to paddle within 100 yards of the whales. However, the whales can do as they please. Some people are lucky enough to be approached by a whale, stop paddling and enjoy one of natures most magical moments.

No. But they're very big. And the new babies are very inexperienced, so please keep a good distance and don't go farther from shore than you can swim back.

Morning is almost always the best and only time to kayak on Maui. Trade Winds and whitecaps generally arrive in the afternoon. It's best to be ashore by then.
